Nigel lives in Up Holland with his wife and young family. Nigel is originally from Yorkshire and moved to Wigan before settling in Up Holland.
He has worked for the NHS for over 13 years and currently works as a senior Emergency Care Practitioner with a background as a Paramedic, prior to the NHS, Nigel worked in the haulage industry and as a motor vehicle mechanic.
In his spare time Nigel likes to work on, restore and ride classic and retro motorbikes, listening to music, attending concerts and travelling with his family. This year he completed a one day charity motorbike ride from Lands End to John O Groats in aid of Cancer Research UK.


Recent events.
8/5/25 – 80th Anniversary of VE day, Beacon Country Park.

Victory in Europe Day is the day celebrating the formal acceptance by the Allies of World War II of Germany’s unconditional surrender of its armed forces on Tuesday, 8 May 1945. It marked the official surrender of all German military operations.
Victory in Japan followed on Wednesday, 15 August 1945. When the Australian Prime Minister Ben Chifley announced on radio that Japan had unconditionally surrendered to allied forces.
Total end of World War II was Sunday, 2 September 1945. The war lasted six years and one day.



2/5/25 – Nigel received 1420 (42%) of 3413 votes (7 ballot papers were rejected) in the 2025 County Council elections.
