Gareth, a lifelong resident of West Lancashire for more than 45 years, has strong ties to the community. With two teenage sons enrolled in local schools and colleges, and generations of his family having lived in the area, he is deeply committed to ensuring West Lancashire continues to be a place where families can prosper.
Gareth serves as a Lead Data Solutions Architect within the UK’s nuclear energy sector, contributing to the forefront of national energy security and technological advancement. His career centres on addressing complex technical challenges and overseeing large-scale infrastructure projects. He applies this engineering-first approach to public service, emphasizing data-driven outcomes, professional accountability, and the responsible allocation of taxpayer funds to meet local priorities over vanity initiatives.
Gareth believes in Reform UK out of concern for West Lancashire’s ongoing under-investment and the shortage of local career opportunities. As both a father and a long-standing resident, he recognizes the strain caused by rising Council Tax alongside declining services. He is dedicated to safeguarding the rural landscape from unsuitable development and ensuring the council manages its budget with the same professional rigor he brings to national energy infrastructure.

Gareth Believes In:
- Solving Local Problems: Using my professional experience in high-consequence engineering to bring an engineering-first, data-driven approach to council decisions, cutting through bureaucracy and focusing on results.
- Council Tax Value: Fighting to ensure that when your tax goes up, you actually see the benefits. I believe in prioritizing core services like road maintenance and waste collection over “vanity projects.”
- Preserving Our Green Belt: Protecting Rural West from inappropriate, large-scale developments. I believe in infrastructure-led growth, not just building houses without the schools and GP surgeries to support them.
- Energy Common Sense: As an advocate for British nuclear technology, I believe in scrapping expensive, unreliable Net Zero subsidies in favour of reliable, long-term energy solutions that lower household bills.
- Real Jobs for West Lancs: Working to attract high-skill industries to the borough so the next generation doesn’t have to leave the area to find a great career.
- Infrastructure & Highways: Tackling the long-standing issues with local road conditions and ensuring our rural lanes are safe and accessible for residents and farmers alike.
- Secure Borders: Firmly supporting Reform UK’s national policy to stop illegal immigration, ensuring our local public services and communities are protected from undue pressure.
- Public Accountability: Restoring transparency to West Lancashire Borough Council, ensuring that every penny of public money is accounted for and spent on the people’s priorities.
